City attorney's contract with firm is on contingency

The Los Angeles city attorney's office has been less than eager to disclose the details of its contingency-fee arrangement with a private firm retained for a recently filed suit against financial services company Northern Trust Corp.

LOS ANGELES - When City Attorney Carmen A. Trutanich announced a suit against Northern Trust Corp. over the financial services company's alleged mismanagement of city pension funds, he seemed eager to capture the public eye.
