Verizon Communications Inc. and some of its subsidiaries have agreed to settle a nationwide consumer class action over its billing practices on behalf of third-party vendors. Pending court approval, the company will repay class members 100 percent of the charges for which they were wrongly billed, or $40 each. It will also pay $5,000 to each name plaintiff and $7.5 million in attorney fees.
