LOS ANGELES - Services are pending for retired Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge David M. Schacter, an outspoken and, at times, irascible bench officer whose high-profile trials made it nearly impossible for him to stay below the media radar, try as he might.
Schacter, who also was known for a quick wit and engaging manner, died Thursday after a long illness. He was 68.
