Obama Taps Duffy for U.S. Attorney

Laura E. Duffy, chief deputy of general crimes for the Southern District U.S. attorney's office, was nominated for the top post on Wednesday.

President Barack Obama tapped federal prosecutor Laura E. Duffy to become U.S. attorney in California's Southern District on Wednesday.

Duffy joined the U.S. attorney's office in San Diego in 1997, serving as deputy chief of the general crimes section since 2007.
