A Butte County judge was publicly admonished Wednesday for failing to disclose that his father loaned him $71,000 toward his 2000 election campaign.
The California Commission on Judicial Performance said Superior Court Judge Stephen E. Benson undermined the purpose of the state's campaign finance laws.
