High Stakes Require Regulation of Magazines Ranking Colleges

Forum Column - By Patrick Mattimore - Most Americans younger than 50 have not heard about the payola scandals in the recording industry in the late 1950s. Payola is the paying of bribes or graft for commercial favors or special advantage. In this country, disc jockeys were being paid to play certain songs on the radio, thereby securing potential sales for certain artists.
