Gray Cary Cuts Loose 55 Associates, Staff
Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich has added yet another chapter to the year-old tale of law firm layoffs. The firm's announcement Aug. 29 of the layoffs of 22 associates and 33 staff members made it the fourth Bay Area law firm to institute at least two rounds of cutbacks in that time, and the Palo Alto-based firm also offered its incoming class of first-year associates $25,000 to walk away from employment contracts.
