Misplaced Humor Nails Lawyers to the Wall
With astonishing frequency, I hear this exact remark, made during jury trial, usually when dealing with damages or other important financial issues, where a lawyer will say, in a lame attempt to be funny while screwing up some simple computation: "Oh! I'm so bad at math! That's why I went to law school! Ha ha." (Nobody laughs.)
