Biotech Firm Plans to Appeal Patent Decision

LOS ANGELES - A Cambridge, Mass.-based biotech has vowed to appeal a decision that it says has sucked the lifeblood from its prospects. Transkaryotic Therapies was hoping to produce what it claims is a better version of Amgen Inc.'s blockbuster drug Epogen.
