Cooley Appeals Rampart Ruling

LOS ANGELES - Call it Gil's revenge. In his first big loss since taking office last month, new District Attorney Steve Cooley found himself on the defensive Thursday as he filed an appeal to a Los Angeles Superior Court judge's ruling overturning convictions of three officers involved in the long-running Rampart scandal.
