Orange County Gets Crime-Fighting Funds
Orange County will receive nearly $10 million in state funds to fight juvenile crime, Gov. Gray Davis said in an announcement Thursday. Orange County is the first county in the state to qualify for its share of more than $120 million appropriated under the Crime Prevention Act of 2000. County officials said they will use the money to implement 11 programs in a multiagency plan aimed at curbing juvenile crime.
