Unpredictability

In the coming years, intellectual property rights are likely to spark increasingly vigorous debate as their potential value continues to rise. Unfortunately for attorneys, however, the outcomes of disputes over such rights remain altogether unpredictable. Three legal disputes litigated earlier this year in Los Angeles over the ownership and value of similar intellectual property rights yielded three very different results.
