Davis Polk: PRIVATE EQUITY FORCES UNITE FOR SEMICONDUCTOR BUYOUT

Francisco Partners and Citicorp Venture Capital have joined forces to buy 80 percent of American Microsystems Inc. for $525 million. San Francisco's Francisco Partners is a private equity firm focusing on buyout and recapitalization investment in technology companies. The firm has invested in 20 companies with transaction values between $50 million and $2 billion.
