Firm must face malpractice claim, appeals court rules

A malpractice lawsuit can proceed against a California law firm for its representation of a conservator who misappropriated more than $1 million from his mother's estate, a state appellate court ruled Friday.

A malpractice lawsuit can proceed against a California law firm for its representation of a conservator who misappropriated more than $1 million from his mother's estate, a state appellate court ruled Friday, reversing a lower court decision.


The ruling reinstates the complaint against Oakland-based Burnham Brown and one of its attorneys, Monica Dell'Osso.
