California AG's office settles privacy lawsuit for $28 million

California Attorney General Kamala Harris announced a $28 million settlement for privacy and contract violations Monday with an Atlanta-based company that leases electronics, furniture and appliances.

California Attorney General Kamala Harris announced a $28 million settlement of a lawsuit alleging privacy and contract violations Monday with an Atlanta-based company that leases electronics, furniture and appliances.


Nearly all of that money will be returned to state customers who signed lease agreements with the company over a four-year period, according to Harris's office.
