MediaTek, Freescale reach last-minute patent deal

Taiwan-based MediaTek Inc. and Texas-based Freescale Semiconductor Inc. struck a global settlement on Monday, just before jurors in Oakland were set to deliberate a $23.4 million patent infringement trial between the companies.
