Union fails to win concessions from LA court on layoffs

The union proposed to have its members work for free one day per month if the court would call off some layoffs set for today.

The union representing administrative support staff and judicial assistants at the Los Angeles Superior Court proposed to have its members work for free one day per month if the court would call off some layoffs set for today, an offer rejected late Thursday by court officials, sources close to the negotiation said.
