Court could get California cross case

The decades-long legal battle over the 43-foot cross marking a federal veterans memorial site at the peak of Mount Soledad in La Jolla may end at the U.S. Supreme Court.

WASHINGTON - The decades-long legal battle over the 43-foot cross marking a federal veterans' memorial site at the peak of Mount Soledad in La Jolla may end at the U.S. Supreme Court.


The court is poised to announce today whether it will review a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision that the cross violates the Constitution's prohibition on government endorsement of religion.
