WASHINGTON - Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals nominee Andrew D. Hurwitz crossed a crucial, apparently decisive procedural threshold on Monday, leaving him one step away from the federal bench.
Sixty senators voted to invoke cloture, thus breaking the GOP's filibuster against Hurwitz and clearing the way for senators to consider approving the Arizona Supreme Court justice.
