Thomas W. Elke, 1929-2012

A longtime lawyer and one of the founders of San Francisco law firm Farella Braun + Martel LLP, Elke died Sunday after a long bout with various illnesses. He was 82.

Thomas W. Elke, one of the founders of San Francisco law firm Farella Braun Martel LLP, died Sunday after a battle with lung cancer. He was 82.


Elke helped established the firm previously known as Elke, Farella & Braun in 1962 with two friends from Stanford Law School, Frank E. Farella and Jerome I. Braun.


Braun described Elke as an intelligent and big-hearted iconoclast.
