3-D company inks deal for China theater installations

Beverly-Hills-based 3-D technology company RealD Inc. has inked a deal to install its systems on 100 screens in theaters in China owned by Bona Film Group.

In anticipation of growing 3-D movie exports to China, Beverly-Hills-based 3-D technology company RealD Inc. has inked a deal to install its systems on 100 screens in theaters owned by Bona Film Group. China opened the door in February for more "premium format" foreign movies to be shown domestically, expanding its yearly quota of imports from 20 to 34, as long as the additional films are in 3-D or IMAX.
