Former attorney sentenced in fraud scheme

Disbarred Nevada lawyer Mark Roy Anderson was sentenced to 135 months in prison Monday for defrauding investors.

SANTA ANA - Disbarred Nevada lawyer Mark Roy Anderson was sentenced to 135 months in prison Monday for defrauding investors in alleged oil companies out of $9.5 million.

In imposing the sentence, U.S. District Judge Percy Anderson labeled the defendant "a professional con man" and "a financial predator with little regard for the law or harm he causes."
