Palo Alto-based Cooley Godward Kronish laid off 58 staff members, constituting a 7 percent reduction of its staff workforce nationwide.
In an "all-hands" memo distributed Thursday, Chief Operating Officer Mark Pitchford explained to Cooley employees that "the reduction was conducted to eliminate pockets of staffing overcapacity."
