Polanski's Motions May Have Prompted Action

Chad Hummel filed motions on behalf of fugitive film director Roman Polanski that may have nudged the L.A. County district attorney to pursue a 30-year-old arrest warrant, attorneys say.

LOS ANGELES - A flurry of pleadings from fugitive film director Roman Polanski in the last year nudged the Los Angeles County district attorney's office to pursue a 30-year-old arrest warrant, culminating in his arrest Saturday in Switzerland, according to attorneys watching the case.
