Panel Clarifies Bail Bond Issues in Guilty Pleas

LOS ANGELES - An appellate court ruled Monday that, when a defendant who is out on bail pleads guilty, the court must either commit the defendant to custody or explain its reasons for allowing the defendant to remain free on bail.
