Huge Leap In Activity For Office of U.S. Attorney

SAN FRANCISCO - The annual report for the U.S. attorney's office in Northern California shows that the number of criminal cases filed in 2000 nearly doubled from 1998, with a similar jump in the number of trials, particularly in complex gang prosecutions, securities fraud and public corruption cases.
