REITS may finally embrace e-signature and e-delivery

Thanks to a recent development brought forward by the NASAA, these direct participation programs may soon be able to take full advantage of e-delivery and e-signature concepts long available to other businesses.

For all of us who engage in e-commerce transactions, we are used to accessing or receiving documents via the internet, through email or otherwise. In addition, we approve purchases electronically and even sign contracts to purchase, sell or lease real estate and other major assets using an electronic version of our signature.
