Landau Lawyers League competes in annual all-star basketball games

The Landau Lawyers League held its annual basketball all-star games Aug. 8 and 15 with players from the league's three divisions splitting up to compete in two games at the Staples Center. In the Aug. 8 game, the "LLL Lakers" faced off against the "LLL Clippers" in a back-and-forth contest that went down to the final buzzer. Ultimately, the LLL Clippers walked away victorious, 56-55. Lee Linderman, who represented Irell & Manella LLP, took MVP honors by scoring 14 points. In the Aug. 15 game, the "LLL Bruins" took on the "LLL Trojans." The game was a more one-sided affair with the LLL Trojans taking a halftime lead of 35-30 and then running away from the LLL Bruins in the second half en route to a 77-60 victory. Gino Pedraja, who represented Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP, was the game's MVP with 23 points scored. — Henry Meier
