Judge denies request to seal courtroom in Gucci abuse case

A judge denied a defense request to partially close the courtroom in a high-profile sexual abuse case involving the Gucci family, with trial proceedings potentially delayed due to a pending appeal.

A Los Angeles judge elected not to close his courtroom for portions of an upcoming trial in a case alleging the coverup of child sexual abuse within the Gucci family.

Judge Michael Small denied a motion by the defense to seal the courtroom during testimony of the plaintiff's sister, who is expected to be questioned about sexual abuse allegedly suffered at the hands of Joseph Ruffalo, husband of co-defendant Patricia Gucci and stepfather of the plaintiff.
