Employment class claims against Lyft tossed

Drivers who use the ridesharing app claim they are misclassified as independent contractors when they should be paid as employees.

A federal judge in the Northern District struck class claims from a lawsuit against ridesharing app Lyft Inc. Thursday, deciding the plaintiffs could not seek to certify a nationwide class of Lyft drivers under California law.


The drivers claim they are misclassified as independent contractors when they should be paid as employees.
