Settlement signals slowdown in smartphone war

The patent litigation slugfest between Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. took another step toward winding down after the smartphone rivals agreed to settle all disputes taking place outside the U.S.

PALO ALTO - The so-called smartphone wars may be winding down after rivals Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. agreed Wednesday to settle all patent disputes taking place outside the U.S.
