Appeals court strikes down San Diego hotel tax use

City can't use money to revamp its convention center, home to annual Comic-Con conference that has threatened to leave the town

The city of San Diego cannot use a hotel tax to finance a $520 million renovation of its convention center, the 4th District Court of Appeal ruled late Friday.
