LETTER: Let's keep the attorney-client privilege

Professor Laurie Levenson's July 29 article, "Privacy, privileges and prison," discusses the recent concerning reports that with increasing frequency federal prosecutors are reading emails between attorneys and their presumptively innocent pretrial detainee clients. These detained individuals enjoy a full Sixth Amendment right to counsel and to have (and thus prepare for) a fair trial.
