Michele M. Castillo, a longtime Ventura County deputy public defender, has been selected to serve as a Superior Court commissioner in the county, officials announced Friday. Castillo was selected by the court's judges to take over the seat vacated by former commissioner Rocky J. Baio, whom Gov. Jerry Brown named to a local judgeship last month.
