White collar practitioners find synergies in data breach work

Former federal prosecutors have discovered that their knowledge of cybercrime is a good complement to their white collar practices, as data breaches follow many of the same patterns as other internal and government investigations.

The latest crop of federal prosecutors to make the jump to law firms has brought a new skill set - expertise in cybercrime.


Law firms are targeting these attorneys to beef up their white collar defense practices and help companies prepare for and react to data breaches and hacker attacks in light of increasing government scrutiny on privacy and data security.
