Obama taps Energy Department GC

President Barack Obama nominated Gregory Woods Tuesday to be the Energy Department’s new general counsel.

President Barack Obama nominated Gregory Woods Tuesday to be the Energy Department's new general counsel. Woods has been deputy general counsel at the Department of Transportation since 2009 and previously worked as a trial attorney at the Justice Department.

Before joining the Transportation Department, Woods was a partner at Debevoise & Plimption LLP in New York in its corporate finance and Latin America practice groups.
