Brown taps Liu for state Supreme Court

UC Berkeley law professor Goodwin Liu failed to win Senate approval for a seat on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. But it appears he'll soon be giving advice to the 9th Circuit as a member of the state Supreme Court.

UC Berkeley law professor Goodwin Liu failed to win Senate approval for a seat on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. But it appears he'll soon be giving advice to the 9th Circuit as a member of the state Supreme Court.

Gov. Jerry Brown nominated Liu, 40, to the high court Tuesday, and this time the confirmation process is expected to move more swiftly and easily.
