Immigration fraud scheme busted

Federal agents in Sacramento have busted an elaborate immigration fraud scheme involving fake marriages between American citizens and foreign nationals from Eastern Europe and Russia, Eastern District officials said Tuesday.

Federal agents in Sacramento have busted an elaborate immigration fraud scheme involving fake marriages between American citizens and foreign nationals from Eastern Europe and Russia, Eastern District officials said Tuesday.


Six individuals out of 14 charged in a multi-count federal indictment were under arrest as of Tuesday, the officials said. Others were being sought.
