The Association of Corporate Counsel has chosen a successor for its recently departed general counsel Susan Hackett.
James A. Merklinger, the ACC's deputy general counsel who joined the organization in 1995, will take over as general counsel in the first week of August, ACC President Veta T. Richardson and spokeswoman Marthea Davis said on Thursday.
