Northern District launches rocket docket

A new rocket docket effort to speed civil trials to conclusion launched Monday at the Northern District.

SAN FRANCISCO - A new rocket docket effort to speed civil trials to conclusion launched Monday at the Northern District.


One goal is to schedule a binding one-day trial six months after parties agree to the expedited procedure, according to U.S. District Judge William Alsup of San Francisco, who helped devise the plan. He estimated that up to 10 percent of civil cases could benefit from the program. <...
