The top investigator for the civilian watchdog of the Los Angeles Police Department plans to resign to accept an appointment as a Superior Court commissioner.
Nicole Bershon, inspector general to the Los Angeles Police Commission, told the Associated Press that she will leave the post after less than a year. She could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
