Victory for Open Records

A California appellate justice sided with public interest watchdogs and media outlets Wednesday, ruling that the San Diego County Employees Retirement Association must disclose the full names of high-paid pensioners.

Open government advocates won an easy victory over a pension fund Tuesday when a California appellate justice ruled that the names and retirement pay of pensioners are public information. It is the second such appellate decision to be handed down in as many months.
