Court to Consider Patent Ruling Challenge

In a challenge to a patent ruling brought by the Obama administration, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed Monday to consider the rights of applicants fighting the government's refusal to grant patent rights.


In a challenge to a patent ruling brought by the Obama administration, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed Monday to consider the rights of applicants fighting the government's refusal to grant patent rights.


The court will review a U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit decision holding that, in certain circumstances, applicants can introduce new evidence and have those facts considered in a new trial. Kappos v. Hyatt, 10-1219.
