Abercrombie Unit Sued Over Headscarf

A Muslim woman who says she was fired by Abercrombie & Fitch subsidiary Hollister Co. for refusing to remove her religious head scarf filed suit over the incident in the Northern District on Monday.

A Muslim woman from San Mateo who says she was fired by Abercrombie & Fitch subsidiary Hollister Co. for refusing to remove her religious head scarf, or hijab, when asked by her employer, filed suit over the incident in the Northern District on Monday.

Plaintiff Hani Khan said she was "demoralized and felt unwanted," according to the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Legal Aid Society, who represent her.
