'Guardian Angel for Poor' Directs Public Counsel's Attorneys

LOS ANGELES - The word hamlet may bring to mind a collection of ivy-covered cottages surrounding a village green. In the Philippines, "hamleting" is a quixotic term used by human rights activists to describe the destruction of families. Villagers are rounded up into camps by military police in order to "protect" them while the government leases their land to greedy cohorts.
