FTC achieves settlements in mortgage fraud case against law firm officer

Lawyers said the prospects for recovering some $18.5 million are improving as the case progresses.

The Federal Trade Commission secured an $18.4 million judgment against Damian Kutzner, the former chief operating officer of allegedly fraudulent mortgage relief firms Brookstone Law PC and Advantis Law Group PC in Orange County, according to documents stipulating to Kutzner's dismissal from the case.
