The No. 1 concern among general counsels today is controlling how much they spend on outside counsel, according to a new report.

Before the economic downturn, general counsels across the nation were more concerned about legal compliance than anything else. Since then, their No. 1 concern has become controlling how much they spend on outside counsel, according to an annual study released Monday by the Association of Corporate Counsel and legal project management company Serengeti Law.
