Lawmakers Must Also Answer to Constituent Taxpayers

Darren McKinney of the American Tort Reform Association says the Chatsworth Metrolink crash should not be used to bankrupt employers.

In "Lawmakers Weigh Raising Cap for Train Wreck Suits" (Oct. 14), personal injury lawyer Brian Panish says, "Politically, I wouldn't know what the rationale would be to protect Amtrak, or what the rationale would be to limit the rights" of those injured in last year's Chatsworth Metrolink crash.
