New Legislative Counsel Appointed

SACRAMENTO - For the first time in the 90-year-history of the office of the Legislative counsel, the California Legislature appointed a woman Thursday to head the office of 600 attorneys, technicians and support staff who draft bills, render legal opinions and run the Legislature's data center.
