State Chief Justice asks federal government to stop immigration arrests in courthouses

State Supreme Court Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye has asked the federal government to stop immigration arrests in courthouses around the state.

California Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye requested in a letter Thursday that the administration of President Donald J. Trump refrain from making deportation arrests inside California courthouses, stating such actions hinder the judiciary's ability to provide equal access to justice.
